Detailed Analysis:
1. Product Positioning & Application
Applicable Models: Widely used in heavy-duty trucks (e.g., Sinotruk Howo, Shaanxi Auto Delong, FAW Jiefang), light-duty trucks, buses, and other vehicles equipped with diesel or gasoline engines. Especially suitable for China V and China VI emission standard vehicles with higher emission requirements. Often used in conjunction with exhaust aftertreatment devices such as mufflers and three-way catalytic converters.
Function:
Vibration Damping & Noise Reduction: Uses the elastic deformation of the metal bellows to absorb engine exhaust vibrations (e.g., shaking, displacement), reducing vibration transmission to the vehicle body or other components and lowering noise levels.
High Temperature & Corrosion Resistance: Exhaust pipe temperatures are extremely high (up to 600–800°C for diesel vehicles, approximately 400–600°C for gasoline vehicles). Additionally, the component is exposed to corrosive substances in exhaust gases (e.g., sulfur, nitrogen oxides, particulate matter). Therefore, the material must offer excellent high-temperature resistance, oxidation resistance, and corrosion resistance.
2. Appearance & Structural Features
Material:
Bellows Body: Typically made of stainless steel (e.g., 304, 316L) or high-alloy heat-resistant steel. The braided outer sleeve is usually made of stainless steel wire, enhancing the strength and tensile resistance of the bellows.
Flanges / Connecting Tubes: The metal tube sections welded to the exhaust pipe at both ends. Mostly made of mild steel or stainless steel, with surfaces possibly treated for rust prevention (e.g., galvanized, painted).
Structure:
Bellows Section: The corrugated middle section is the core flexible area, featuring a spiral or annular corrugated shape, giving it the ability to expand, contract, and deform.
Braided Sleeve: Wrapped around the outside of the bellows, providing reinforcement and protection, preventing external damage to the bellows under high pressure and high temperature.
Flanges / Connection Tubes: Cylindrical tubes (or with flanges) at both ends, used to connect to the front and rear sections of the exhaust pipe (e.g., muffler, turbocharger outlet) via welding, clamps, or bolts.
Mounting Bracket: Some flexible connection assemblies include a metal bracket (as seen in the image with a perforated metal plate) for fixing to the frame or vehicle body to prevent exhaust pipe shaking.
